Summary
In this chapter, we learned how to configure a Tuxedo application to use transactions. We developed a transaction server and created transactions in application code using the ud32
tool and Tuxedo configuration. We learned about two kinds of timeouts supported by Tuxedo and how they interact. And last, but not least, we learned how to escape transactions and timeouts when necessary.
Now you know how to use transactions in Tuxedo and the quirks and glitches of different timeouts. That means that we can move on to the next chapter about persistent message queues, which use transactions and the transaction manager for ACID properties.
