Creating tables
Web SQL Database, as the name implies, relies upon SQL to create tables, store data, and retrieve that data. This means that you essentially need to know an additional language in order to use Web SQL Database; JavaScript isn't sufficient. That said, SQL is pretty easy to grasp. Even so, it's beyond the scope of this chapter to give you a complete understanding of the language. For SQLite's variant of SQL, http://www.sqlite.org/lang.html is a good resource.

Creating a table is fairly straightforward. First, let's look at the SQL syntax you use to create tables, and then we'll move on to the JavaScript version using Web SQL Database. Note that in all our SQL examples, we're using SQLite's version of SQL:
