Building Workflow Rules
We are about to see (almost) everything about Workflow Rules – how they are shaped, how they can be configured, and what you can actually do with them to deliver Salesforce automation, using point and click and no code.
Workflow Rules are the oldest automation tool available on the Salesforce platform and I assume, if these are not your first steps on the platform, that you have certainly already stepped into them.
This is a so-called IFTTT tool (meaning If This Then That), which means that if a specific condition is met (the If part), an action is executed (the That part). While a condition is always related to a record that is being created or edited, actions can be related to the record itself or to the parent record (if we have a master-detail relationship in place).
