Managing Azure Subscriptions and Management Hierarchy
Azure subscriptions are agreements between Microsoft and a customer that grant access to Azure services and resources based on pay-as-you-go or commitment-based payment models. They serve as the primary means for managing resources, services, and costs within Azure. Every subscription has a unique identifier, and customers can maintain multiple subscriptions in a single Azure account.
Azure subscriptions assign various roles to users, thereby enabling them to manage and control resources. Roles such as Owner, Contributor, and Reader offer different levels of access and permissions. Subscriptions also act as boundaries for billing, usage monitoring, and resource quotas.
