Summary
This chapter was all about Synapse SQL pools. You have seen and examined the different options of loading data into a dedicated SQL pool.
After that, you learned about the serverless SQL pools of Synapse and the benefits that they can add to your modern data warehouse from the perspectives of usability and flexibility, but also from a cost point of view.
Finally, you examined the communication between Synapse Spark pools and the dedicated SQL pools, and the exchange of metadata between the different computes of Synapse workspaces.
In the next chapter, Chapter 11, Developing and Maintaining the Presentation Layer, you will examine the options to implement your presentation layer and present data optimally to downstream consuming tools and clients.
