Configuring principal settings

In this section, we will delve into the most critical and frequently used Admin settings within Looker. We will begin with the Database pages, having already touched upon them briefly. Following that, we will explore the General and Alerts & Schedules pages in detail. The remaining Admin pages will be addressed later in this chapter.

Getting ready

Go to the Looker interface, click on the menu button, and then click on Admin.

How to do it...

Let’s dive into the main administrative panels, starting with the familiar Database section:

  1. In Admin, click on the Database drop-down list and choose Connections.
  2. In Connections, you can choose Edit or Test your existing database/data warehouse connections and add new connections by clicking on Add Connection.
