Summary
In this chapter, we first discussed the Cloud Adoption Framework. Afterward, we presented the five Rs strategy for cloud migration: rehost, re-platform, refactor, rebuild, and replace. Then, we explained the different Azure hosting options – IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS – and talked about the migration considerations.
In the next chapter, we will focus on the modernization of existing .NET applications, which means a strategy of moving a workload to a newer or more modern environment without modification, or with minimal modification to the application’s code and basic architecture.
