Creating Your First Additive Setup

Welcome to Chapter 7. In previous chapters, we covered how to create and modify models for 3D printing. Now, we can start to go over how to set up a 3D print using Fusion 360. Before we can walk over to our 3D printer and press print, we need to define the process digitally on our slicer, which in this chapter will be Fusion 360. 3D printing using Fusion 360 can be as simple as pressing a single button if we first take the time to define mission-critical information, such as which printer we will be using and which material we will be printing with. In this chapter, we will dig a little deeper into how to use Fusion 360 effectively, so we can understand how the machine and print settings libraries work together to help us create an additive setup, so that we can go from a digital design to additive manufacturing.
