NSX Edge is a feature rich gateway Virtual Machines which offers L3-L7 services. Edge Gateway is the glue that connects all logical networks provide DHCP, NAT, Routing, VPN, Firewalling, Load Balancing and HA functionality. Ideally these devices will be configured at the perimeter level of vSphere Datacenter.
