The Azure IoT Handbook is an excellent resource for anybody looking to leverage the power of Azure with their IoT devices. The book dives right into the processes and managing devices in Azure Hub with practical and easy to follow examples. I especially liked the hands-on labs to reinforce the topics. The section on Machine Learning was also a nice touch. If you are interested in IoT on the cloud you cannot go wrong with this book.

"The Azure IoT Handbook" is an excellent resource that offers a detailed exploration of IoT applications. The book covers common use cases, such as weather sensor's data application, providing a practical understanding of real-world scenarios (p. 4).One standout feature is the inclusion of machine learning references, notably in Chapter 11, offering valuable insights into the integration of AI technologies (p. 6). The comprehensive discussion on machine learning throughout the book is particularly commendable. The inclusion of step-by-step processes and lab sections with accompanying screenshots enhances the reader's learning experience, making the "how-to" aspects easily understandable and applicable. While the book does well in covering IoT protocols, it raises a question about the inclusion of additional protocols like Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Bluetooth, commonly used in home security (p. 5). This consideration could further broaden the book's applicability.Chapter 8's exploration of Azure Data Explorer is praiseworthy, introducing a capability that may not be widely known. The thorough coverage of this aspect reflects the author's commitment to providing a comprehensive guide.Overall, "The Azure IoT Handbook" offers an excellent overview of IoT application considerations, blending theoretical concepts with practical implementation. The inclusion of detailed figures, step-by-step guides, and summaries at the end of each chapter adds to its instructional value. The book stands out for its clarity in explaining code lines, making it accessible even for those new to the subject.Furthermore, the book concludes on a positive note by recommending other enjoyable reads and maintaining a high standard of detailed figures and explanations. In summary, it is a recommended read for anyone seeking a robust understanding of IoT applications and their implementation using Azure.

I've already read a few books by Dan, especially about Power BI. Azure IoT book is the result of Dan skill set collected when teaching AZ-220. Azure IoT is quite a deep and specific topic that is not commonly observed by other authors. I'm happy to see that book on the market that explains complex technology in a simple way. Some topics like comparing IoT Hub, Event Grid and Event Hub have a lack of information in original documentation and are perfectly clarified in the book. Another advantage of the book is that it covers quite hot topics like Machine Learning and integration of IoT with custom models. This topic does not commonly exist in the ML books but is highly demanded in the commercial IoT industry. It is worth mentioning that the book contains a hands-on practice that helps learners to investigate Azure IoT services and practice with new technologies. The disadvantages I found in the book that contains some screenshots will be outdated after changes made in the Azure IoT. Meanwhile the description is quite informative to figure out the changes. One recommendation I can give to the author to improve the current book in the next edition is add more detailed steps description for the hands-on task. Overall the book should be a must-read for IoT Engineers and learners who want to improve their skills with Azure technologies.

I found the book extremely useful to get a grasp of the Azure IoT offerings for those new to IoT but with Azure experience. Even if a company isn't using Azure but is venturing into IoT, this book provides a good level of detail. The hands-on examples throughout the book were invaluable for solidifying my understanding and getting started with my own projects.
