Part 4: What’s Next in Your Career?

In this final part, you will learn about career management – when is the right time to seek alternative paths or another CIO or CISO position? Or should you consider consulting? Your overall life and career path is one to be mapped and you should always try to think two jobs ahead. Your career may pivot from one CIO role to another or from CIO to CISO (and vice versa). In Chapter 11, we will discuss an alternative role as a Risk Management Executive. This path is not taken often but should be considered. A final bonus chapter will explore what many CIOs and CISOs do in their retirement. Several rewarding post-career moves are explained, and this is when they don’t want to sit on a beach!
