To get the most out of this book

In order to get the most out of this book, you need to have some basic knowledge and understanding of programming.

We assume you have basic knowledge and understanding of the following:

  • Basic programming
  • Working with the command line
  • The Dart programming language
  • The Flutter framework

To gain the most benefits, it is always advised to practice by following along with the lessons. When the lesson is code-heavy, it is advised to keep calm and proceed one step at a time.

To follow along and run the codes provided for each chapter, you need to install Flutter. You can do so by following the official guide at https://docs.flutter.dev/get-started/install. To build and run Flutter and Dart on the web once they are installed, all you need is to install the Google Chrome browser.

If you are using the digital version of this book, we advise you to type the code yourself or access the code from the book’s GitHub repository (a link is available in the next section). Doing so will help you avoid any potential errors related to the copying and pasting of code.
