The practice of enterprise architect is to analyze, design, plan, and implement enterprise strategies in a way that facilitates business success. Using architecture principles and practices, enterprise architects help companies structure their IT projects and policies to achieve business outcomes and stay current with market trends. This process is also referred to as enterprise architectural planning. EA emerged from various architectural manuscripts and business systems planning in the 1960s, according to the Enterprise Architecture Book of Knowledge (EABOK).
