Extracting data using FNDLOAD
Oracle provides a tool called FNDLOAD, which is also known as the generic loader. This tool is actually a concurrent program that performs the migration of the configuration data between instances of Oracle E-Business Suite. It is a command-line utility that is usually executed via a script. There are two stages to migrating configuration. The first step is to download the configuration from one environment and the second is to upload it to a target environment. The download process creates a file or files with an LDT extension, which is a text file. There are a number of benefits to using FNDLOAD. It means there is no manual user entry, which is prone to error. It is also much quicker to use than manual configuration. The limitation of FNDLOAD is that there are only a limited number of configuration items that can be migrated with FNDLOAD. These are the following:
