Exploring Catalyst, its core principles, and its engagements
We performed a very unscientific survey in which I asked a few different experienced MuleSoft professionals what Catalyst was and what benefit it provided organizations. Despite the small sample size, the results were interesting. Almost all saw the Catalyst as an important resource. Some considered it a project blueprint; others suggested it was a project methodology; a few I asked thought of it as a repository of templates and artifacts that could give them a good starting point. All had a different perspective on it.
Architects who take the MuleSoft Certified Platform Architecture (MCPA) course are introduced to Catalyst at a very high level, where it is described as a framework and an enterprise integration delivery methodology that adopts a big-picture view of delivering business outcomes, technology, and organizational enablement.
