Sample projects use zipline package. This package last release is from 2020 (now 4 years old). There is some attempt to replace it with zipline-reloaded. But unfortunately I wasn't able to install neither of these 2 packages, so there was no point in continue watching this seemingly outdated course.

I honestly can't tell you what the goal is for this course. It's not what the description says. It probably deserves one star but you will learn something. First, all throughout the course, a lot of information and steps are missing. A lot of time has to be dedicated to connecting the dots and figuring out steps that he is missing. Second, the skill level he describes is downplayed. Im a mechanical engineer and have been stock trading manually a long time. I know a lot of the terms and I know all of the math. I'm not great at programming. Because a lot of information is skipped, you will need some computer skills such as virtual machines, linus, conda, maybe docker, setting up an IDE. If you follow him step by step, you will get stuck in the first 2 minutes of the class and will not be able to complete the course. He goes to showing a VM and then skips to another screen which was probably 2 hours later in real time with text already on his screen and does not explain it clearly. Third, he shows how to back test on software that currently does not work. This course uses "Ziipline" Which has been obsolete for a while, and possibly obsolete when this course was created and he just used old data. You will need to find another solution for your backtesting. Fourth, all he does is go over backtesting, then add some machine learning analysis. You look at a chart and compare, the machine learning did not improve the strategy. After all the back testing, the course ends. He does not give any direction on how to deploy this for personal trading and connecting with an API. If I had to guess, 70% of the information you need to do what the description says is not available in this course. On second thought, this course does not deliver on what it says it does, I'm downgraded to 1 star. You will learn something, but not what you want to learn.
