Uploading documents

You can view a video online. However, you should first upload the video to a server first so that other users can access it through a URL. Liferay Portal provides a document library portlet for us to upload video files and file in other formats to the application server that Liferay Portal is running in.

The document library portlet is used to create folders and upload documents. It is a central place for document management in Liferay Portal.

If you go to a community, use the document Library portlet to create a folder and upload a file into it, the folder and the file are only visible in the document library portlet when you stay in that community. If you change a community and open the document library portlet, you will not see that folder and file – the folders created and files uploaded through the document library portlet are specific to a community or an organization.
