Bringing it all together
That’s it so far – for the layers at least. This reference approach should give you a feel for what you need to consider as your starting point. It is far from the final architecture, but if you don’t have any idea where to start, it hopefully provides something to think about.
We have tried to cram a lot of information into this chapter to help you understand this reference architecture and some of the reasons why it was put together in this manner. Everyone has to start somewhere, and without knowing much yet, about how we are going to solve some of our digitization efforts, this is a good starting point. We can now focus on implementing parts of this architecture and use it to test out our solutions and standardize patterns.
