In this chapter, we deep dived into Linux, explaining the fundamental tasks of every Linux system administrator: managing software, the network, storage, and services.
Of course, as a Linux system administrator, this is not something you're going to do on a daily base. Most likely, you're not going to do it manually but automate or orchestrate it. But to be able to orchestrate it, you'll need to understand how it works and be able to verify and troubleshoot the configuration. This will be covered in the Chapter 8, Exploring Continuous Configuration Automation.
In the next chapter we will explore the options available in Linux that limits the access to the system:
- Mandatory Access Control
- Network Access Control Lists
- Firewall
And cover the integration with the Azure Active Directory Service.
