When creating calculations on a chart, we usually create expressions that calculate the value of aggregation for each dimensional value. In some situations, you may want to disregard the dimension in the calculation by changing the aggregation scope. To achieve this, we use the TOTAL qualifier inside the aggregation function.
The TOTAL qualifier may be followed by a list of one or more field names within angular brackets. These field names should be a subset of the chart dimensions. In this case, the calculation is made by disregarding all chart dimension variables except those listed. This means that one value is returned for each combination of field values in the listed dimension fields.
