Playing with the new Movie Maker mode

In this recipe, we will create a scene with a ground and a pillar in the center. We will animate the light to go from one side to the other while rotating so that we can see the shadow. We will set up and use the new Movie Maker mode to record the animation. The Movie Maker mode is a great tool to use to make promotional videos.

Getting ready

For this recipe, click the + button to the right of the Transition scene we just completed to add a new scene. In the Scene tab, click 3D Scene. Click on the word Scene in the main menu next to Project, then select Save Scene As, and name it Movie.

How to do it…

First, we are going to make the scene and add the lighting:

  1. Left-click on the three vertical dots to the left of Transform View on the viewport toolbar to edit the Sun and Environment settings.
  2. Add the Sun and Environment nodes to the scene by left-clicking the Add Sun to Scene button at the bottom while holding down...
