Blurring out a face or logo
If you're shooting a documentary, reality TV show, news package, or countless other similar run-and-gun, man-on-the-street style shoots, you're often going to play it safe and blur out certain elements on screen. Does an interview subject not wish to be recognized? Is someone wearing an offensive shirt? Maybe someone flashed an inappropriate body part! Who knows.
While FCPX can create localized blurs without any installed extras through a rather cumbersome process, we're going to use the downloaded effect RT Face Obscure, downloaded in the last recipe to make this process much, much easier.
Getting ready
