Enabling and configuring Gamification

In the previous section, you learned about badges, which are one of the most popular game design elements used in eLearning. In this section, you will learn about points, which is another widely used game design element in online learning.

The idea is quite simple: learners get points whenever they interact with the learning content hosted on your account. The more they learn, the more points they get. These points are visible on the Leaderboard page of the Learner role, where learners can view their score and see how they compare with their peers. The goal is to promote positive competition among employees, which in turn increases learning and engagement.

Avoid confusion

Most users are unfamiliar with the term gamification and refer to this feature as the leaderboard. Communication is a key aspect of implementing these types of features, so be sure to use terms and expressions that everyone understands when communicating about these gamification...
