This chapter focuses on the leadership aspect of a business and probes the leadership capabilities that are fundamental for enhancing enterprise agility.
The leadership of a firm has a very high bearing on the extent of agility which the company can achieve. Leaders are in a position to influence just about every aspect of a business, including vision, mission, strategy, structure, governance, processes and, more importantly, the culture of the enterprise and the mindset of the employees. As discussed previously, leaders are influencers not only because they make decisions about resource allocation priorities but also because they are looked up to as role models and therefore they are in a position to influence the behavior of people across the organization.
