Problem – clips don’t play properly
Sometimes, there will be issues with videos that were imported seemingly fine before. That’s why it’s a useful failsafe to run videos through a transcoder first before importing them. But if you come across a problem where videos you’ve already imported are not playing, there are some techniques to run through that might help “remind” iMovie of the video it’s supposed to be playing.
Solution – “reminding” iMovie of the clips in the project
Follow these steps:
- Find the media that’s not playing properly in Finder.
- Click on the file and drag it, holding the file over the iMovie timeline (no need to drop it in). If iMovie has “forgotten” information about the file and isn’t playing it properly, showing it the original file can get it working again.
