Summary
In this chapter, we went deeper into customizing Joomla’s look and feel. We first learned about templates in Joomla! and their basic structure. Then, we looked into template overrides, a powerful technique to adapt any Joomla! extension to our designs. We also learned how to create new menu item types for our components. Finally, we explored Web Assets Manager’s great features to override, disable, and add new assets to our overrides.
In Chapter 11, Developing a Child Template for Joomla!, we will investigate more visual changes for our site by creating our first child template.
