The Azure Well-Architected Framework
Around July 2020, Microsoft launched the Well-Architected Framework (WAF) for Azure. The WAF is a collection of industry-relevant best practices that are divided into five pillars:
- Cost management
- Operational excellence
- Performance efficiency
- Reliability
- Security
The WAF provides excellent prescriptive guidance that enables architects and developers to incorporate architecture best practices into their solutions.
