Introduction to Windows Admin Center
In late 2019, Microsoft announced the availability of a new complementary management experience for Windows machines without requiring the use of Azure or the cloud, and was ultimately released as Windows Admin Center. Windows Admin Center is not a part of the Windows Server image by default and can be downloaded for free and installed on either Windows Server (in a gateway mode for managing multiple servers) or installed on Windows 10/11. The management solution is entirely a web-based UI tool that allows administration from virtually anywhere, given there’s proper configuration and firewall access. The installation requires the use of a TLS certificate. Note that the temporary self-signed certificate that Windows Admin Center can create for use/evaluation expires in 60 days.
