Categorizing your metrics, analysis, and reports within the business process
Identifying the key information used within the business can be tricky. To start this process, you can use your newly defined business process to identify which areas of the business process to investigate. Make sure not to get wrapped up in requirements gathering at this stage. All that is required is to gather the information for an understanding of the information within the business process.
Getting ready
To start with, you need to identify key contact people within the organization for each of the processes and process steps. Business Process Owners may be identified within the organization; if not, it may become a little more challenging to gather the information. In this case, look for people in the organization who are responsible for compiling or reporting information on a periodic basis for the business process. These people will become the subject matter experts for the process steps.
