Now that we have all of our UV islands, we need to lay them out so they fit nicely in the UV area:
- Select all of the baby dragon's pieces in Object Mode.
- Tab to Edit mode.
- Press the A hotkey to select all of the components of all of the objects.
- Press the U hotkey and choose Unwrap.
At this stage, you may want to turn off the Live Unwrap feature so that Blender doesn't overwrite your UV layout.
This final unwrap has done three things for us:
- It unwrapped each object into a UV island based on our seams.
- It averaged the UV island scales so that the texel density is as even as possible between all the islands.
- It laid out the UVs within the UV space as best as it could:
