In my experience, human change management is a vital part of any Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project. In this next section, we’ll look at two different projects I participated in. In one project, the company did a really good job of preparing the staff for the upcoming changes. In the other, the company wasn’t as good.
Case study 1 – the bad project
A medium-sized manufacturing company decided to deploy a new ERP system to streamline their operations. The company’s IT department spent months evaluating different ERP software options and decided to implement a cloud-based ERP system. Specifically, they decided on D365 F&SCM. They also selected a couple of different ISV solutions to extend the capabilities of the D365 system.
