Before you can use your EFS filesystem, you need to mount an EFS target on your EC2 instance. This can be done by using the EFS mount helper, which is the easiest method. When mounting your EFS filesystem, you have the option of enabling encryption in transit using TLS as a mount option, which uses a client tunnel process. This listens on a local port where the EFS mount helper will redirect NFS traffic to.
