We need to consider that VPCs are regionally bound, so before creating a VPC, we need to make sure that we select the region where we would like the services or application to run. Once we have selected a region, we need to be aware of the AWS VPC limitations. By default, we are only able to create five VPCs in each region. However, this limit is a soft limit that's imposed by AWS for the sake of sanity, so if we have a certain use case that would require us to create more than five VPCs, then we should contact AWS. Each VPC network can be divided into 200 subnets at most, and we are able to assign up to five IPv4 CIDR blocks to each VPC. Both of these limits can also be increased if required. However, we are limited to only one IPv6 CIDR block per VPC. This is a hard limit and cannot be increased.
