In the automation part of the exam, you can expect 5 or 6 questions on automation features that will test your ability to identify aspects of a deployment that could be automated, the understanding of the automation features in AWS, and the ability to read the automation template (either JSON or YAML). When preparing for the exam, make sure you brush up on the following topics:
- CloudFormation and its features
- Using CloudFormation to automate a network deployment
- Building reusable templates that can be referenced in future deployments in CloudFormation
- Implementing security throughout CloudFormation
- Understanding different deployment and automation options available in AWS
