Using AudioSuite Plug-ins
The AudioSuite provides plug-in effects that are applied to individual Segments, and they must be rendered in order to play. On the other hand, RTAS Plug-In effects (discussed later in this chapter) are applied to audio tracks and they affect every Segment on that track. Additionally, they do not require rendering.
While the AudioSuite Plug-Ins are definitely useful, they have one potential drawback in that they are not easily combined (you must perform an Audio Mixdown found in the Special Menu and apply the second effect to the newly created Master Clip), whereas you can place as many as five RTAS plug-ins on a track.
The AudioSuite plug-ins are located at: Tools Menu | AudioSuite. Before we get into the specifics, let's get familiar with the AudioSuite Window (see the next screenshot):
