Using Unreal Engine’s FK Control Rig
In the previous section, you successfully added the walk animation to both MetaHuman characters using the Level Sequencer. In this section, for the final shot, we will have both Adam and Eve on a ledge, looking at the distance and admiring the new planet, and animate Adam placing his hand on Eve’s shoulder. To do this, we will use the FK Control Rig – as mentioned in Chapter 8, the FK Control Rig is used to manipulate a character’s movement using direct control of each joint’s position and orientation.
Creating the final shot
Referring to the storyboard again, in this final shot, all we need to do is animate Adam placing his left hand on Eve’s left shoulder. Let’s start:
- Move the view to frame Adam and Eve from the front, as shown in Figure 9.20, and create bookmark 4 using Ctrl + 4. Rotate the Directional Light and lower the Intensity to 10 LUX to mimic Figure 9.20:
