Understanding how Polygon works
Polygon uses a decentralized network of Proof-of-Stake (PoS) validators as well as sidechains for off-chain computation to meet scalability requirements.
By utilizing the current developer community and ecosystem, Polygon aims to address scalability and usability issues without sacrificing decentralization. By giving Dapps and user functionalities greater scalability and better user experiences, it seeks to enhance existing platforms.
For public blockchains, it is a scaling solution. The existing Ethereum tooling is supported by Polygon PoS, along with quicker and less expensive transactions.

This is a simplified version of the Polygon architecture and the figure is shown to get a high-level view. Each component that is shown in the diagram has many moving parts.
