Introducing key standards
Standards form an important part of any systems engineering endeavor and allow us to demonstrate that the approach we have taken complies with some established norm. Standards are typically mandatory in projects.
The main standard that has been used throughout this book is ISO 15288 – Systems and software engineering life cycle processes, and that will be discussed in the next section.

By applying the techniques that we have introduced and discussed in this book, in particular in Chapter 5, Systems Engineering Processes, it is possible to capture and present some of the key views associated with the standard.
