Sun study – what is it and how can it be useful


One of the first things defined right from the start of the project is where the building is going to be located. This has a massive impact on how we develop the scene in Lumion and as an example, just think of the native plants found in Africa and the ones found in Asia. These kind of aspects need to be prepared through the project, but there is something else with a big influence in the scene. In this instance, we are referring to how the Sun and shadows affect the building and the surroundings, and this is so important that it can force the designer to change where certain trees will be planted.

In Lumion, we have an amazing and useful effect called Sun study that can be found on the World tab, and with this effect, we have access to the following settings:
