Integrating a third-party comments extension


There are quite a few third-party comment extensions available for Joomla!; you can see a whole bunch of them at https://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/contacts-and-feedback/articles-comments.

We are going to integrate Komento by Stackideas for a few reasons. Firstly, there is a free version available, so you will be able to do this integration. Note that you will need to register a free account with Stackideas to be able to download it. Secondly, Komento supports Joomla! 3 and the default configuration is pretty good. Thirdly, they have very good documentation available on their website.

The documentation for integrating Komento with a third-party extension is quite detailed; you can read all about it at http://stackideas.com/docs/komento/integrations/creating-your-own-integration-files.html.

We are going to have to make a few minor changes to our component for this to work. At the time of writing, the version of Komento that I'm using is 1.5...
