Chapter 6. Follow-up, Negotiation, and Closing a Hire
Due to the expense and manpower necessary to interview technical talent, it is incredibly important to organize all of the communication that needs to happen after a candidate is interviewed.
You may be in charge of collecting hiring feedback from the interviewing team, which should be done in a timely and efficient manner. You may also find yourself in the position of communicating with candidates, either making offers of employment or politely informing them that they will not be moving forward in the hiring process.
Whatever your role, this is the final step toward your ultimate goal of convincing a great engineer to join your team.
This chapter will teach you how to:
Manage the hiring decision-making process
Follow up with candidates after an interview
Make your employment offers attractive to new employees
Get your new employees started on the right foot
