Chapter 3. Importing Data into Modeler

The previous chapter introduced the Modeler graphic user interface. You learned where different components of the program are located, how to work with nodes and create streams, and how to use various help options. Being somewhat familiar now with the software, we are ready to get started on our data mining project. The first step is to bring data into Modeler. In this chapter, you will:

  • Get an overview of the general data structure that is used in Modeler
  • Learn how to read and display data in Modeler
  • Get an introduction to level of measurement and field roles
