Summary

In this chapter, we explored several areas of governance from the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams perspectives, ranging from identity and authentication to eDiscovery and some of the controls that are available for securing data. We looked at the Microsoft Compliance Manager offering and how your organization can use its templates to track your compliance against industry standards. Finally, we examined some of the life cycle concerns around provisioning identity and access to Microsoft 365 resources.

In the next chapter, we'll look at connecting the cloud-based Microsoft Teams environment with an on-premises Exchange Server deployment.
