Chapter 5: Automation and Dynamic Rules
Dynamic rules allow you to define and execute centralized and automated rules using an "if this then that" conditional approach to trigger actions when certain conditions are met. This powerful feature of Moodle Workplace allows you to automate a wide range of steps you would otherwise have to work through manually. For example, for each user who successfully completes a course, the following steps have to be carried out: issue a certificate, award a competency, notify the user's manager, and enroll them in the follow-up course.
In this chapter, you will be learning all the ins and outs of dynamic rules, which always comprise three parts: the rule header, rule conditions, and rule actions. You will further learn about rule enablement, processing, reporting, archiving, and deleting. All these operations will equip you with the knowledge required to create automation workflows in Moodle Workplace.
