Master Pages
Master Pages are header and footer sections of reports that appear on each page of a report. For example, if we have a report that prints ten pages in PDF, the Master Page will display on each page in addition to the report detail section as designed in the layout. In the library examples we did in this chapter, we created a header that displays the Classic Models logo, company title, and a report title. If we print a ten page report, that header will display on all ten pages.
Master pages are where report designers will typically set page level settings such as page size, orientation, and margin size.
1. Open
CustomerOrderForm.rptDesign
.2. From the Outline, select Master Pages. Drill down to Simple Master Page.
3. Under the Property Editor, select General. Note that this is where you would set page type, size, and orientation.
4. Now select Header/Footer. This section controls whether a header is shown on the first page and a footer is shown on the last page.
