Summary

In this second workflow chapter, we introduced and got familiar with the Symbols panel, and discovered how the use of symbols can be exploited to do some heavy lifting when it comes to editing repeated elements globally across a project efficiently and quickly. We explored briefly how to put symbols to work creating repeating patterns, and also helping to generate unique and fun designs using symmetry in the Designer Persona.

Then we took a look at Affinity Designer's Assets panel, learned what assets are, and when and how to use them. We talked about a workflow using assets, enabling us to store and retrieve commonly used objects, and allowing us to work smarter when it comes to reusing or sharing elements, either personally or collaborating within a team environment.
