Exploring what Fluid Engine is

If you’ve been with me on this journey thus far, you’ll recall that we’re in a new era of Squarespace’s technical growth. The transition to Squarespace 7.1 reinvented the way users edit sites, and Fluid Engine, which Squarespace describes as the operating system for sections, takes it a step further with a more intuitive way to build and design pages and sections.

From 2023, all sites started on new templates use Fluid Engine, replacing Squarespace’s classic editor. Currently, only blog posts still use classic editor, though you do still have the option to add Blank Page – Classic Editor. If you’re interested in learning more about how to use classic editor, I recommend exploring Squarespace’s help documentation or Building Business Websites with Squarespace 7 by Miko Coffey.
