Reports are a collection of visuals that users can consume to view data. Building reports in Power BI entails choosing the visualizations that will tell the story behind the data you've acquired.
If you have created your report in Power BI Desktop, you need to publish it to the Power BI service.
Dashboards can be created in one of two ways, as follows:
- Pin a live page: You can pin a single page of a report as a dashboard. Pinning a page means that any changes that are made to the page are reflected on the dashboard.
- Pin visuals: You can pin individual visuals to a dashboard. A dashboard built in this way shows a subset of the important visuals from all the report pages.
Dashboards are created in the Power BI service.
