Module positions and assignments
Modules are considered the most flexible content unit in Joomla, even more than articles, because modules can be placed in specific positions and be assigned to selected pages.
Each module should be assigned to a position. A position is a place in the layout grid in which a module is displayed. Every template has several module positions in which modules can be placed. Depending on the template structure, a position might host one or more modules; we will explore templates and their positions in depth in Chapter 12.
