Using our hands to authenticate
When asked, most of us would gladly lend a hand to help someone in need. In the near future, you may need to present your hand to authenticate into a system.
Every human hand is unique and provides a rich source of details to aid in identifying someone. Along with using fingerprints, a well-known biometric identifier, scientists have identified other areas of the hand that can be used to identify or authenticate a subject. These methods include the following:
- Palm print technology
- Hand geometry
- Palm vein recognition
